3.    Poor relationships

Would you be happy if you are not in good terms with your parents, siblings, or friends? Absolutely not. Poor relationships can cause depression to some. Seeing your parents quarrel or involving yourself in fights can affect your behavior and how you perceive life. For you to be happy, you have to build strong relationships with your loved ones. Communicate more often with them and don’t be afraid to express how you feel about them.

4.    Having difficulties with decision-making

Life is a matter of choices. Even when you wake up, you have to decide what you have to do first. There are some circumstances that you experience difficulties in making decisions. You are afraid of the possible consequences that you might suffer once you have picked the wrong choice. Sometimes, you suffer because of bad choices. This is why having many choices is frustrating for you. The action that you should take to solve this problem is to weigh down each choice. List down the possible consequences for each and know which is the most advantageous.

5.    Keeping your emotions

You experience different emotions depending on the events that take place in your life. Due to some circumstances, you feel angry even if you don’t want it to be. Because you don’t want to hurt other people, you keep it to yourself. You hold your grudges. When you do this, you are keeping the negative energy with you– making you unhappy. What you have to do is to let go of your bitterness and all the negativities in you. This does not mean that you have to fight those who have hurt you but you just have to let go of your stress. There are many things can take away your extreme emotions. You just have to discover it.

6.    Too much control

Sometimes, you are unhappy because you don’t do what you want. You control your actions too much. You are afraid of getting mistakes so you are too much conscious of your actions. Instead of controlling too much, let go and do what you want but of course, be mindful if what you are doing is right. Remember that things cannot happen just what you have planned.

7.    Ignoring opportunities

Opportunity knocks only once as they say so if you let an opportunity pass you, there is a little probability that it will come to your way again. However, you believe that there are many opportunities out there so you take for granted every chance that is given to you. Well, you should not. Never miss an opportunity. Who knows, it is the one for you.

8.    Comparing yourself to others

Success cannot be measured. This is why you should not compare yourself to others. You are not aware what they have undergone just to be in the place where they are right now. You, too, have suffered and sacrificed many things just to be where you are right now. You are different. You are unique. So don’t underestimate your capabilities because being successful depends on what actions you are going to take. Success is within your hands.

9.    Eating unhealthy foods

Eating unhealthy foods is associated with stress. When you feel bad, most of the time, you tend to eat your comfort foods which include burgers, pizza, ice cream and other that can make you fat. Having a poor diet can make you feel more depressed because according to some studies, it reinforces your chronic impatience. To be happy, eat healthy foods. Having a balance diet can make you feel glow inside that can be reflected outside.

10. Engaging too much time with social media

Do you have a Facebook account? How about Twitter? Instagram? Snapchat? LinkedIn? This is because if you have these and more than these, then you are really a tech-savvy. Using social media is not bad but consuming too much of your time with these applications is not a good idea. This is because social media is associated with depression. Some people seek for attention so they engage themselves with these apps. Not getting “likes” for the pictures you have posted or not receiving messages from your loved ones can make you feel bad and unwanted. Irresponsible use of social media can ruin relationships because it sparks jealousy and suspicion by accepting friend requests or chatting with others. To avoid this issue, you should just allot little time using these apps. Don’t get too much hooked with social media. Have more time with your family and friends.

Signs that You Have to Choose another Path

But to achieve optimal happiness, maybe you might consider taking another course. But how can you determine whether you will have to follow the other road or not? Here are the signs:

You only do your everyday routine. Eat, work, sleep, and repeat. All you do is your everyday routine. You don’t have challenging tasks anymore. You don’t have time to do your hobbies before. You are just like a robot. You do things like you are following a script.

You don’t have the motivation. Your energy is low and most of the time, you feel numb. You don’t have the drive to make it through the day. You’ve already lost the passion inside you.
You are not happy anymore with your partner. Yes, it is hard to admit to your partner that you are not happy anymore because you’ve stayed for years. However, pretending that you are still satisfied with your relationship can cause misery to you. It is better to tell your partner that you have to separate your ways because it is the right thing to do. Maybe, your lover is not the one for you.

You surround yourself with toxic people. The people who encircle you have a great impact in your life. They are great influencers. Sometimes, you consider them when you create decisions. It is not bad to build friendships but if you think that they are just a bad influence to you, never be afraid to search for another circle of friends that can inspire and support you to achieve better.

You cannot move on with the past. You have many “what ifs” in life. You always dwell with the past. Just think of it, how can move forward if you still carry the baggage that your past life has given you? Remove your emotional burden and cherish your present moments.

You don’t take actions. You have many wants in life and you want to achieve all of those things. However, you just dream for it and just keep telling your plans. You don’t take the steps that you should do to reach for your desires. Remember, you cannot just open your eyes and be successful instantly. You have to work for it.
